Yi'an

Yi’an or T’ai-an, Heilongjiang, China is a town on the former -Koshen railway about 100km west of Bei'an, in Yi'an County .

Yabuli Ski Resort

Yabuli Ski Resort is largest ski resort. It is southeast from Harbin. It is located in the northern province of Heilongjiang. Yabuli hosted the 1996 Winter Asian Games and the . It will also be a site for the 2009 Winter Universiade.

Wuchang, Heilongjiang

Wuchang is a city in Harbin, Heilongjiang province of the People's Republic of China.

The name "Wuchang" was used from 1855, because at that time people began to reclaim wasteland, and built five noble lodges. In 1969,assistance-banner official established Wuchang Fort. It was changed to Wuchang Bureau in 1882, and changed to Wuchang Mansion in 1909. In 1913, Wuchang County was set up, and changed to Wuchang Town in 1993.

The area of Wuchang is 7,512 km?, and it has 0.99 million population.

Geography



Wuchang is a half-mountain town, its ground slops from southeast to northwest. Wuchang rises over 450 metres above sea level and Zhangguangcai Ling twists toward the southeast,many hills appear in different layers,such as Laoye Ling and Eagle South Mountain. In northwest, Songnen Plain is the main agriculture area because of its flat ground.

Lalin River and Mangnu River run across Wuchang Town, they provider amount of water for agriculture.

The average temperature is 3.5 Celsius. January--the coldest month is about 19.1 Celsius below zero. July--the hottest month is about 22.4 Celsius. The annual precipitation is 625 mm, frost-free season is 124 days and the sun hours are 2,576.

Economic situation



Wuchang has so many advantages to develop agriculture, such as loamy soil, abundant water, and suitable weather. So grain includes rice, corn, soybean, sorghum, cereal and wheat. It also grow such industrial crops as beet and tobacco.

Pingfang

Pingfang , today a district in the outskirts of Harbin, China , Pingfang was the headquarters of the Japanese Biological Warfare Unit 731 during the and World War II. It had an airport, railway and dungeons. Most of Pingfang was burnt by the Japanese to destroy evidence but the incinerator where the remains of victims were burnt remains and is still in use as part of a factory.
Pingfang is an industrial center of Harbin now. Hafei , Dongan , and Northeast Light Alloy Processing Plant are the three major manufactors there.

Nangang District, Harbin

Nangang District is the largest and most populated district in Harbin, China. It is home to major offices of the provincial government and is the political heart of Heilongjiang province. Other areas of interest within the district are the Harbin Railway Station, Guomao underground shopping street, Confucius Temple and Jile Temple. A new subway system is also being built currently.

Nangang district is also famous by the business area around the"hongbo" square, there are several shopping centers such as "Qiulin" corporate, "Harbin No.1 shopping center" corporate, "Yuanda" shopping center. Normally the central part of Nangang district includes the areas of "Harbin Institute of Technology", "Northern Theater", "Hongbo" square, and "No.1 Hospital of Harbin Medical University".

There are also many famous streets in Nangang District, such as Tieling Street, Anshan Street, Longjiang Street, Jilin Street, Ashihe Street, etc.

Nangang district also has many excellent schools, such as Tieling primary school, No.69 middle school, No.3 high school, and so on.

Mishan

Mishan is a Chinese city in the province of Heilongjiang.

History


Early medieval history


From 698 to 936, the kingdom of Balhae occupied northern Korea and parts of Manchuria and Primorsky Krai, consisting of the Nanai, the Udege, and descendants of the Tungus-speaking people and the people of the recently fallen Goguryeo kingdom of Korea. The vicinity of Tongjiang was settled at this moment by Funie Mohe tribes . These tribes were submitted to Balhae Kingdom under King 's reign .


Later, King , administrated their territories by creating a prefecture in the neighbourhood : The Dongpyong Prefecture with Yiju , present-day Dangbi as its administrative centre.

Jiangqiao

Jiangqiao a town on the Nen River, Heilongjiang, Peoples Republic of China also known as Chiang-ch'iao, Ha-la-erh-ka. The Nenjiang railroad bridge across the river was the site of of the Second Sino-Japanese War.

Hailin

Hailin is within the Hǎilín Shì county-level city administrative division, located in Mudanjiang prefecture, Heilongjiang Province, northeast China. Name and Meaning



Literally, the name Hailin in English means "sea forest", but a better interpretation seems to be "boundless forest". In this sense, Hailin shares a name with the "boundless" Linhai Snowfield .

Hailin is today known by several descriptive names - "forest sea and snow plain", "hometown of Manchurian tigers", and "hometown of Chinese north medicine". However, in the past many knew Hailin from the story of people's revolutionary hero Yang Zi Rong , the real life hero Zhang Zonggui. His story was made into a modern, revolutionary Beijing opera ''Taking Tiger Mountain by Strategy'', based the 1957 novel 林海雪原 by Qü Bo. Various movies have been made of the same story.

History and Administration



Hailin must have been inhabited even in the ancient times of the Shāng Dynasty or Yīn Dynasty , if not the Neolithic era. Historic sites include ancient Qunli rock paintings, Jiangdong ancient cemetries of Jin Dynasty, Ninggu Tower of Qing Dynasty, a wooden Russian Orthodox cathedral, a depot of the Chinese Eastern Railway constructed in 1903, and the Yang Zirong martyrs' cemetery.

During China's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression the Japanese established a military airport at Hailin. Even recently aircraft bombs continue to be discovered during construction and other projects.

The present day administrative division traces its recent history to Xinhai county established in 1946. The division was changed to city-grade in 1992. Nowadays, there are 8 towns and 123 administrative villages in the Hailin City division. The towns include Hailin town, Changting town, Chaihe town, Sandao town, Erdao town, Hengdao town, Xinan town, Shanshi town, and Hainan town.

Geography and Resources



90% of the Hailin City administrative area is mountainous. Principal geographic features of Hailin include Shen Mountain, Qian Mountain, Qiulingman Mound, Haigu Plain, Zhangguancai Ridge, and 140 streams or rivers of the Mudanjiang water system . The larger rivers are the Mudanjiang River, the Hailang River, Sandao River, Erdao River, Toudao River, Shanshi River, Mijang River, Hongdian River, and Touyin River.

71% of the county is covered by forest. Important products include timber, medicinal herbs such as ginseng and ''eleutherococcus senticosus'', and forest foods such as edible mushrooms, which are farmed in large quantities.

Tourism



Tourist activities include skiing. Other attractions include two national forest parks , the largest artificial lake in northeast China , and the largest animal raising center in China, if not the world . Hengdaohezi Tiger Park is claimed to be the largest breeding center for Siberian tigers in the country. It was established in 1986 with 8 tigers, and has a population of some 256 tigers .

Daxing'anling Prefecture

Daxing'anling Prefecture is a prefecture under Heilongjiang. It is located in the northern-most part of China. Its area is 46,755 km?, population 520,000. It is named after Greater Khingan.

Aigun

Aigun is a town of China in northern Manchuria, situated on the right bank of the Amur River. The Chinese name of the town, which literally means "Bright Jade", is a transliteration of the original Manchu name of the town.

Modern Aigun is part of the city of Heihe, Heilongjiang Province, People's Republic of China.

History


Formerly known as Saghalien Ula hoton (Manchu: sahaliyan ulai hoton : 黑龍江城 : Heilongjiangsheng), the town was founded first on the left bank of the Amur River, below the mouth of the , but was abandoned, and the present town was founded in 1684. It was here that concluded, in May 1857, the Aigun Treaty, according to which the left bank of the Amur River was conceded to Russia. During the Boxer Rebellion of 1900 it was, for a few weeks, the center of military action directed against the Russians.
